Regional 911 listing services/providers ensure that when a person dials 911 from a telephone, the location (physical address) is provided to the 911 operator. With traditional, "wired" telephone service, the 911 address is always the same as the service address. With VoIP telephone service, you must ensure that the telephone number and location are correct. As part of provisioning, this information is submitted to the appropriate 911 routing services.
RPM checks whether the address is a real address. If it is not, an error message is displayed. Correct the address and click Submit again.
If it is a valid address, the following confirmation message is displayed.
The E911 page is displayed again. At the bottom, the telephone number is listed as Active.
Or, continue with the Next Step, below.
Congratulations! You have finished provisioning the customer! Be sure to send the VoIP telephone to the customer. When the customer plugs in the VoIP telephone, his or her account is activated.
